  51.                      IMPORTANT CONSIDERATIONS:

  53. Netmail, is a 'commitment' that only YOU can decide.  YOU pay
  54. nothing to UsNetMail for the messages you receive, and nothing
  55. for the messages you and your users put into the network in the
  56. various conferences.
  57.  
  58. As the SysOp, YOU must decide IF you can afford to take on
  59. netmail.  The costs for netmail are incurred by Long-Distance
  60. charges on your phone bill.  It requires a commitment on your 
  61. part to anticipate and be prepared for an average monthly
  62. expense of $15.00 to $30.00 more on your phone bill per month.
  63.  
  64. An average mail run takes only 2-5 minutes per night.  This 
  65. means that it will cost about 22cents to 55cents per night
  66. to send and get mail.  If you do not think that YOU can afford
  67. this, then RIGHT NOW you should NOT consider having any kind
  68. of netmail available for your BBS callers at this time!
  69.  
  70. YOU should also have a High-Speed Modem.  2400 baud may cost
  71. you more than you can logically affort in Long-Distance.  The
  72. only way 2400 baud is acceptable is if you are a PCPursuit
  73. customer where you get 30-hours of modem calls for $30.00 
  74. per month.

  76. UsNetMail DOES sell an internal high-speed modem which xfers
  77. approximately 1700cps which is a V-Series 14,400 baud carrier
  78. modem and is only $250.00.  It will connect at High-Speed to
  79. any V-Series modem, and any US Robotics Dual/Standard or 16.8
  80. modem.  An American made 5-year warranty Brand Name modem.

  84. ===============  Who does UsNetMail want Most?  =============

  86. UsNetMail would like to become America's Rural BBS Network.

  88. Not to offend those who are in larger cities, we are in 
  89. Tampa, Florida, and that is not so Rural <G>, but I grew up
  90. in a Rural Farming Community, and I feel that these areas would
  91. be best served by UsNetMail.

  93. UsNetMail has alway had pride in its membership, and their users,
  94. and moreover, pride of having a relaxed 'laid-back' atmosphere.

  96. SysOps, and other callers are not expected to 'war-lord' the
  97. conferences, and when an off-topic message appears in a 
  98. conference, JUST LET IT SLIDE.  It causes nothing but problems
  99. when other callers try to 'jump' on those who may have just
  100. made a small mistake in posting a message.

  124. system....BAR NONE....of any Network in the World.

  126. Monthly you will receive an ADMINISTRATIVE REPORT of all conferences
  127. and their traffic levels.

  129. PERIODIC CONFERENCE IDENTIFICATION-- UsNetMail National HUB system
  130. automatically generates (periodically) a conference ID message 
  131. which has the name of the conference, and its basic description.
  132. This helps YOU to be sure conferences are configured properly, and
  133. helps your callers feel more at home with reference to the 
  134. conference topic and its use.

  137. ================  WHAT DO I DO TO JOIN UsNetMail? ===============

  139.                      That part is VERY easy.
  140.  
  141. FIRST, you must join the UsNetMail Network, by calling the
  142. UsNetMail WORLD HUB at (USA) 904-567-0596.  This is a High-Speed
  143. V-Series modem, regardless of your connect speed, it should only
  144. take you about 4-minutes to complete member questionaire.
  145.  
  146. THEN, download according to your BBS system type the needed mail
  147. tosser files.
  148.  
  149. DECIDE where you will want to call to exchange your mail.  
  150. In this packet are files with the extension of .HUB  Find a HUB
  151. in a location that is best for you.
  152.  
  153. NOTIFY the HUB you want to call for mail, (Follow the HUBs 
  154. instructions.) You may additionally be assigned a specific time
  155. to make your mail-runs.
  156.  
  157. The HUB sysop will then wait for a notification message in the 
  158. UsAdmin Conference that you have joined the network.  
  159. (This could take up to a few days)
  160.  
  161. ================= WHAT PROGRAMS DO YOU NEED?  =================
  162.  
  163. On your side you will need:   Tnet20.zip for Wildcat Pre V3.0
  164.                               Tnet30.zip for Wildcat v3.0+
  165.                               Qnetv30.zip for Pcboard systems
  166. The above are used to insert and extract messages in/out of
  167. your BBS system's message bases.
  168.  
  169. You must also have some way to call and exchange mail.  Your
  170. current modem communications program (Telemate, Qmodem, etc) and
  171. an appropriate script. OR use ROBOCOMM v4.2 which is the
  172. program 'of choice' to carry out the exchanging of mail packets.
